My morning coffee run used to be a vital part of my morning routine. But, as I get comfortable with the NOW, I’ve learned to make a pretty good latte here at Cafe Chandler.

Yesterday, a good friend of mine said she finally stopped saying “when things get back to normal” because we’re not going back. Her advice? Create your NEXT, be intentional and seek inspiration in the everyday.

While I do miss my baristas and my old morning routine, here’s what I’m loving about my new am groove:
☕️ Saving money by not going out for coffee daily;
☕️ Doing my morning coffee run in my PJs;
☕️ Getting up earlier; and
☕️ Treating myself to coffee in bed at least 3 days a week.

And, since I’m no longer doing daily morning coffee runs, I’m not passing by Le Pain Quotidian or Pret A Manger which means I’m not picking up my favorite chia breakfast puddings and yogurt parfaits. BUT, the good news is that I’m making them here at home.

Again, saving money so definitely a win. And, don’t tell my husband I said this (he’s the primary cook in our family), but there is something satisfying about meal planning and execution.

Recently, I’ve become a little smitten with chia seeds. I’ve always liked chia as a topping for yogurt or in a smoothie, but I’ve taken it up a notch since I’ve been eating most of my meals at home.
And the good thing is chia seeds have a ton of health benefits! They’re loaded with fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients. Chia seeds are high in antioxidants and they contain a decent amount of protein.

I saw a recipe for chia breakfast pudding on The Every Girl the other day that I decided to try my hand at – I admit it, I had no idea how easy it is to make! SUPER DUPER EASY. I added a little nutmeg, ground ginger and cinnamon to mine. And look how well it turned out. This is my morning staple until further notice! (Until I try another one of their breakfast recipes that is!)

Stylishly yours, Kalyn
