February 15th Is National Black Girl Magic Day
Did you know that Monday was National Black Girl Magic Day? Let me give you a little background on the origin of the phrase Black Girl Magic; it was originally coined by CaShawn Thompson in 2013. The idea is to “celebrate the beauty, power, and resilience of black women”, as described by Julee Wilson (the Beauty Editor at Elle magazine), and to congratulate black women on their accomplishments.
The Collection It Inspired

The first time I heard the phrase Black Girl Magic it struck a chord within me. I wanted to create a collection of Black Girl Magic products with a logo that was sophisticated, yet whimsical … ethereal … just like we are – beautiful, powerful, and resilient. My heart leapt when I saw it on the computer screen for the first time and I just knew this was it. Now the products are real and my friends are using our Black Girl Magic Pouch as an evening bag! It is surreal to see this product line come to life and become so popular.

Our Black Girl Magic products give you permission to stop hiding your magic and encouragement to display it proudly. I design original products with YOU in mind. With me in mind. I do it with passion and love. Because I believe that we deserve to feel that tingly feeling every single day when we get up and see products that celebrate who we are. We deserve to feel important. We deserve to feel seen. To embrace our magic proudly. Life is too important not to be having heart-leaping moments daily.
Stylishly Yours,
Kalyn
