So… What Changed?
For the first time since March 12th – the last day I went to the gym before sheltering in place – I am really beginning to feel like my old self. See, I like to work out. Going to the gym regularly was as much a part of my morning routine as my morning coffee runs. I’m always feeling better after working out,

As you know by now, WFH can be a little isolating. So, part of going to the gym was social … I got a chance to interact with friends and acquaintances and to just be around other people before sitting down at my desk for the day. BUT, the other part was moving my body. Handing control over to an instructor for 45 to 60 minutes and just following their prompts. I didn’t know it then, but I do now, I NEED those endorphins.
I was constantly taking classes, trying new workouts, everything. Whether they involved back workouts, ab workouts, or shoulder workouts, I was down to try them all over time.

My Solution? Virtual Workouts
Over the past couple of months, I’ve tried all kinds of virtual workouts. I know folks swear by Peleton; probably the only workout I haven’t tried. But 10 days ago, I was scrolling the ‘gram and I came across my favorite fitness instructor’s feed AND discovered that she was offering virtual daily classes. Ya’ll, I immediately felt lighter. Why? Because I knew I could start to get back on some sort of schedule if I set up my days around when I was going to take one of Marie’s classes. Ten days in and I’m a NEW woman and feeling better!
My old yoga teacher used to say, “same same, but different” (I need to see if I can find her on the ‘gram too!) – having someone I know and trust to work out with feels so normal, even though virtual workouts are different. But, I’ll gladly take it! I’m already feeling better and more like myself again.

And as always, thank you for your love, support, social shares, and ORDERS!
Stylishly yours,
Kalyn
