5 Fall Fashion Trends I’m Currently Loving

It’s Fall Y’all!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love fall. I’m all about pumpkin spice lattes, football games, sweater weather, and cute beanies! Fall trends and fashion are always my favorites to style. So I’m going to be breaking down five of my favorite fall trends for you today! I have been sharing some of my favorite pieces over on my LiketoKnowIt if you are interested in seeing my picks in real-time and snagging something for the season.

Never used LiketoKnowIt before? No worries, you know I’ve got you covered! I have a guide on how to navigate and shop the app to help make your experience better. Definitely recommend checking it out first.

1. Dopamine Dressing

I was about Dopamine Dressing long before #dopaminedressing became a thing.  I learned a long time ago that if I don’t like what I have on, it can overshadow my entire day.  While some may call this crazy, shallow, or even vapid, feeling good in my clothes has a positive effect on my entire outlook.  If I feel like I look good, I know I can tackle just about anything.

Cozy example of dopamine dressing

Many people think of bright colors and patterns when it comes to dopamine dressing. However, the concept just means that you are wearing items that make you feel happy and confident. No matter what the colors end up being.

I love wearing pink!

However, wanting to look good and looking good are two different things.  Ask any stylish friend what goes into her planning an outfit or packing for a trip and she’ll tell you careful planning.  Planning involves everything from knowing what she has in her closet to know what shapes and brands work for her body.

This coat always makes me feel fab!

2. Chunky Loafers

A simple and fun way to elevate any look. Want to look taller without worrying about heels? Chunky loafers are the next best option. Their platform base gives you the same look while remaining comfortable.

Another option to the trend, is chunky clogs

Lately, I have been loving pairs from Prada, Chanel, and JCrew. Here is a pair from JCrew that I have had my eye on. They are definitely an investment piece that will last in your wardrobe and become a closet staple!

Everyone needs a good pair of loafers!

3. Statement Leather

Recently leather has become quite popular in fashion and a go-to for many statement pieces. From pants to blazers and anything in between, people are styling leather versions. Fashion shows showcased a variety of leather pieces this year from more classic looks such as leather jackets to more modern takes such as two-piece sets and dresses.

Leather-style pieces are so fun and easy to style!

Whether it’s genuine leather, vegan, or faux leather these styles have been making a slow comeback in recent years. Everywhere from The Gap to Ann Taylor, Jcrew, Walmart (yup, under the Scoop label, they have some cute items), and ASOS to name a few. This means that you don’t have to pay a ton to try out the style and see if you like it.

Catch me rocking the leather look all fall!

If you find that you do, that’s when you can invest in a nicer piece or two that can become closet staples. Sometimes it’s difficult to invest in items if you are unsure of the style.

4. Blazers

When it comes to fall style, the blazers have made a huge comeback. They are not just for conferences or work anymore. People are styling them with anything and everything these days. You’ll see celebrities like Hailey Bieber styling them frequently. She tends to combine trends, recently she has been rocking black leather blazers whether she styles them up or down.

A few of my favorite blazer finds have been from Mango, Zara, Veronica Beard, and Urban Revivo. They offer more classic styles or statement ones displaying subtle fringe. Between the styles and color selections available, you can find a blazer to match any look. They are a common fashion piece I see daily on the streets of New York City.

5. Maxi Length

Now if you follow me over on IG or follow my LikeToKnowIt then you may know this already, but I love my maxi pieces. Whether they are dresses or skirts I am here for them. So it’s safe to say that I am on board and ready for this trend. I think it’s also perfect for the fall because the length will help to keep you a bit warmer.

You can catch me wearing maxi pieces everywhere!

Plus you have the option of layering tights underneath without them being seen if they don’t exactly go with your look. Fall and winter in New York tend to get chilly. Which means that strategic layering is a must. Especially if you find yourself shooting content whenever you can like I do.

Some of my favorite stores to find maxi-length pieces are Ulla Johnson, Shop Buru, Maxwell & Geraldine, Hill House, Karen Millen, and ASOS to name a few.

Prepare Your Wardrobe

Those are five of the fall trends I am loving this season! Sweater weather is here so you’ll want to make sure your closet is ready. Don’t forget to pick up some cozy pieces (they are a must-have for the colder months.) I shared some of my must-haves here. What fall trends have you been loving? Let me know – it’s never too late to add an item or two to your collection.

Stylishly Yours,

Kalyn
